About the Authors

Suzanne Lorenz and Sam Beasley are clinicians, authors, trainers, and successful business owners. Their work in the last 20 years has been focused on women’s issues and treatment of substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Their current areas of specialty include helping people overcome the emotional roadblocks to prosperity and well-being, working with artists and the creative process, and helping people struggling with financial compulsivity. Suzanne is a licensed clinical social worker, and Sam is a certified drug and alcohol counselor.

They coauthored Wealth and Well-Being, a guidebook to aid therapists, counselors, and helping professionals in working with clients to empower them in gaining financial freedom and Wealth and Well-Being Workbook; Overcoming Barriers to Financial Independence. They currently provide seminars based on the work in their book as well as training seminars and services to the substance abuse and mental health fields.

Sam and Suzanne are co-owners of Prevention Education Program, Inc. Sam has managed counseling agencies and provided training and consulting services to counties, agencies, and counselors throughout California.

Suzanne and Sam are partners in a successful marriage as well as their businesses. As part of their own self-care and well-being, they are also artists who joyfully fund their arts. Suzanne is a writer and fine-arts photographer interested in capturing landscapes and the changing environment. Sam is a writer and musician who loves to sing, particularly in singing groups.
